Fred Hollows was a doctor who specialised in the treatmeant of the diseases of the eye.
To do this he had to travel to England and there he won a prize
as one of the top students.
When Fred Hollows returned to Australia he spent a lot of his time studying and treating an eye disease called 'trachoma', this disease would cause blindness if it wasnt treated quickly enough.
