Who he was: 
Fred Hollow was born 9th of April 1929. New Zealand and Died 10th of February 1993, at the age of 63 Sydney, Australia. All of fred hollows family was born in Dunedin.Fred Hollow was one of four children, the others being Colin, John and Maurice.
Where he came from:

Fred Hollow was born in Dunedin, new zealand and worked there for a long time and then came over to Australia.  All of fred hollows family was born in Dunedin.

Why he immigrated to Australia:

Fred hollows was an ophthalmologist who became known for his work in restoring eyesight for countless thousands of people in Australiaand many other countries. It has been estimated that more than one million people in the world can see today because of initiatives instigated by Hollows, the most notable example being The fred Hollows.  Fred Hollow was a man who created a business to help poor and blind people all over the world to see again.  Luckly his son still continues his business and is making a difference all over the world.  Fred Hollow came over to australia to help poor people and the sick, he got a job in australia to be a Ophthalmologist. 

When he immigrated to australia:

Fred Hollows came to australia when he got a job over there.
Hollows was originally a New Zealand citizen. He declined the award of honorary Officer of the order of Australia in 1985. He adopted Australian citizenship in 1989 and was named australian of the year in 1990. He accepted the substantive award of Companion of the Order of Australia in 1991.

What circumstances he immigrated under:

He was awarded a job in Australia for Ophthalmologist.  The fred hollows foundation was launched as an Australian charitable foundation in Sydney on 3 September 1992 to continue the work of Fred Hollows in providing eye care for the underprivileged and poor, and to improve the health of indigenous Australians.

How he impacted on Australia's history:

Fred Hollows got a great opportunity to come to australia to help people with there sit and he took the opportunity and became famous.
Hollows was given a state funeral service at St Mary's Cathedrel in Sydney, and, in accordance with his wishes, was interred in Bourke, where he had worked in the early 1970s He was survived by his wife Gabi Hollows (an Australian living treasure), and children Tanya, Ben, Cam, Emma, Anna-Louise, Ruth and Rosa, and his two grandchildren Nicholas and Isabella.
His family lived in Dunedin for seven years of his life. He had one year of informal primary schooling at North East Valley Primary School and began attending Palmerston North Boys' High School when he was 13.
