Fred Hollows
1.Fred Hollows was born on the 9th of April 1929. His parents names were Joseph and Clarice. He was an eye doctor that helped many adults and children across the world get back their eyesight. he had 3 other brothers named Colin, John and Maurice.
2.He was born in Dunedin, New Zealand.
3.He immigrated to Australia in 1965.
4.Fred came to Australia for work reasons. he wanted to help the less fortunate kids in Australia.
5.He flew by plane to get to Australia.
6.He impacted on Australia because he helped all those less fortunate people in poor countries. He also won Australian of the year award in 1990. he helped people see again or for there first time. Just before he died he said he wanted his great achievements to carry on and wanted his family to organise a foundation so people could learn how to do what fred hollows did and keep helping the poorer countries to see again.
