Fred Hollows

Fred Hollows was an eye surgean (opthalmologist).
 that saved many people's eye sight. It is estimated that Frederick gave millions of people their eye sights back! After his success Fred became the head of the sydney hospital.



Fred Hollows was born in new Zealand in 1929. Fred had cancer and died from it on the 10th of February 1993.

Fred Hollows immigrated to Sydney, Australia in 1965 and was accepted as an eye surgeon. Fred worked their for 25 years. He hopped on the plane to get to Australia.

He moved here because he wanted to get a better job here in Australia and he got acceptetd into the Sydney hospital to be an eye surgeon.


Fred impacted on Australia history as he saved thousands of eye sights. There now is a foundation all about the, wonderful Fred Hollows called the Fred Hollows Foundation.
