Fred Hollows was born in Dunedin at New Zealand. He became a a eye doctor which is called a opthalmologist and treats eyes that have diseases and make them get better. He came to New South Wales in 1970's. Fred Hollows studied a disease called trachoma which will cause blindness to people when they do not treat it carefuly and quickly which lots of aboriginal people suffer because of this harmful disease.
Fred Hollows had helped the aboriginal medical service and helped aboriginal people.He had saved many people from the diseases like cataracts and trachoma. Fred had got so many medals and awards like a Australian achievement award,and a Humans Right medal and his name was named after a medical foundation. He was a hero to many people.
