DR VICTOR CHANG
(1936-1991)

In 1936 Victor Chang(Yim Yam) was born of Australian born-Chinese parents. At age of 12 Victor lost his mum and that's when he decided to come to Australia.

Victor Chang comes from Shanghai ,China.

At age of fifteen he came to Sydney to do secondary school at Christian Brothers College and later graduated from Sydney University as a bachelor of medicine.

Victor came to Australia to finish school and because there were more options here in Australia.

Victor Chang migrated on a plane.

Dr Victor Chang impacted on Australia by improving heart transplants dramatically and saving a young girls life called Fiona Coote. Sadly on the 4th of July 1991 in Sydney thieves demanded $3 million but when he refused they gunned him down and ran off. To this day Fiona Coote can enjoy her life because of Mr Changs' efforts.
