******************************************* Fred Hollows
Fred Hollows was known for finding a cure for eye disease.
Fred was born on the 9th of April 1929 in Dunedin New Zealand.  He was one of four children, the others being Colin, John and Maurice.  Fred Hollows dedicated his life to giving people their eye site in other countries who can't afford eye surgery. He then did post-graduate work in Wales before flying to Australia in 1965 (so he could follow his dreams) where he became associate professor of ophthalmologist at the university of New South Wales Sydney.  Nowadays there is a 'Fred Hollows Foundation' which is costing an extremely low price at just $25 to completely restore sight if possible.  Australia and New Zealand are now extremely proud to have such a unselfish, great man.
